U.S. Senator Katie Britt expressed her pride in supporting the National FFA Organization, emphasizing the importance of empowering young people to become future leaders in agriculture. Senator Britt stated, “I am always proud to fight for and celebrate Alabama’s incredible farmers, who feed and clothe our state, nation, and world.” She highlighted the critical role of FFA in nurturing the next generation of farmers, cattlemen, and community leaders, emphasizing the link between food security and national security.

National FFA Advisor Dr. Travis Park underscored the significance of National FFA Week, noting its role in honoring an organization that fosters leadership development and addresses the growing demand in the talent pipeline. Dr. Park remarked, “Not only is it an opportunity to share our message with a broader audience, but it’s also an opportunity for our FFA chapters and members to celebrate agriculture and agricultural education while thanking their supporters.”

A bipartisan group of 53 senators, including Senators Todd Young and Chris Coons, passed a Senate resolution establishing February 17-24, 2024, as National FFA Week. The resolution recognizes the National FFA Organization for its efforts in providing educational and career opportunities to students and commemorates the 10th anniversary of the “Give the Gift of Blue” program, which has donated over 17,000 FFA blue jackets to members in need.

In addition to the Senate resolution, U.S. Representative Tracey Mann introduced a companion resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives. A wide array of senators and representatives from both parties cosponsored the resolution, highlighting the widespread support for recognizing the impact of FFA in shaping future leaders in the agricultural sector.
